Pemberton is a small but beautiful town that is nestled in a valley surrounded by spectacular karri forests with lush green pastures & acres upon acres of rolling vineyards.  It is situated 335km south of Perth & is named after an early settler by the name of Pemberton Walcott who arrived in the area in 1862.  Today, Pemberton is a community of around 1200, which includes the many outlying farms.

Attractions


The town's most popular tourist attraction is the huge Gloucester Tree, with its fire lookout teetering 64 metres above the ground!  Other attractions in the area include fishing at the King Trout & Marron Farm, the Pemberton Tramway which operates various tours twice daily, Beedelup Falls & the Pioneer  Museum.  Pemberton Discovery Tours operate many tours throughout the region also, 4WD tours are very popular as they take you through the Yeagarup Dunes to the mouth of the Warren River.

The local Telecentre offer some TAFE courses as well as other education opportunities.

 

 


Sport


Sports are well catered for in the area with cricket, soccer, netball, basketball & football being the most popular.  The new Pemberton Sports Club also have a number of other services including squash, snooker, pilates, lawn bowls, zumba & boxercise classes, a fully stocked gymnasium as well as creche services on certain days.  There is a local cycling group & the Bibbulmun Track runs right through town as well, so there are many bushwalking tracks.  Our local Golf Club is a favourite in town too, they offer a scenic 18 hole course & are always looking for new members.
